City commissioners hear update on Madison Aquatic Center repair project
Madison City Commissioners heard an update on the repair project for the Madison Aquatic Center during their meeting Monday. The commission approved the hiring of an engineering firm to help with the electrical upgrade work that needs to be completed at the facility. City Utilities Director Brad Lawrence told commissioners where they are at in the process.
Lawrence told commissioners that he also needs to have the bid information put together for replacing the boiler at the Aquatic Center, because that needs to be done along with the electrical work in order to eventually open the facility.
When asked about a timeframe for how soon some of the work could be done, Lawrence said he’s been cautious in his planning.
Lawrence said he hoped to be back before the commission soon to get the bid process on the project started.
Lawrence told commissioners that there will also be cleaning, blasting and painting that will need to be done as part of the project.Â
