City Commission to Talk Vegetation

Madison City Commissioners will be meeting tonight and will hold a discussion regarding the height of vegetation in the city. In November of last year the Commission received public comment regarding the maximum height of vegetation allowed within the city limits. The discussion briefly covered topics such as current regulations, growing native grasses, a “No Mow May” event, and other alternative height restrictions. No action was taken.

Monday’s agenda item is listed as an opportunity to discuss the topic further and provide city staff direction on whether to continue enforcing current regulations, prepare an ordinance to adjust regulations, and/or allow an event such as No Mow May where vegetation height restrictions are not enforced during the month of May.

Tonight’s Madison City Commission meeting will begin at 5:30 in the Commission Room of Madison City Hall.
