City commission approves Finance Office restructuring proposal

A recent retirement and resignation has led the Madison City Finance Office to look at doing some restructuring of positions within its office.  City Finance Officer Sonya Wilt told Madison City Commissioners about her proposed changes for the office during their meeting Monday.

Wilt said that with the retirement of one of the office’s Finance Assistants, she is proposing hiring two part-time Finance Assistants, as well as changing another position.

Wilt said that in the future, she would also like to add an Assistant Finance Officer to the City Finance Office.  She said the estimated cost difference for the change in positions now through the end of the year is close to 29-thousand dollars.  Commissioners Monday approved a resolution that changes some of the positions in the Finance Office and the related compensation.
