The Madison City Commission on Monday approved a permit to occupy the city’s right of way for Journey Construction in the construction of Dakota State University’s newest residence hall.  City Engineer Chad Comes told commissioners that this is a temporary permit for the construction company to occupy the right of way in the west boulevard on North Washington Avenue between 8th and 9th Streets during the construction of the DSU Residence Village.

John Reiser with Journey Construction of Sioux Falls told commissioners that they will be using the diagonal parking area and will be putting in a temporary crosswalk to re-direct people walking in the area.

The permit is in place through July 30th of 2021.
