Casey Crabtree on Final Day of the 2023 South Dakota Legislative Session

Today is the final day of the 2023 South Dakota Legislative session. The final day, known as veto day, is set aside for the legislature to consider any vetoes made by the Governor.

Senate majority leader Casey Crabtree of District 8, says the session met one of its major goals by delivering a tax reduction.

Crabtree says the money the legislature directed toward housing was extremely important as well.

One area the legislature failed to deliver was in addressing the concerns of the budgets of county governments. Crabtree says it’s something the legislature plans on looking at.

Crabtree says he does not expect to see any of Governor Noem’s vetoes overridden today.Â
