Trojans Slip to Tigers in Non-Conference Tilt

Dakota State volleyball fell to the same fate as the first meeting with Dakota Wesleyan. Losing again in five sets, 3-2.

The Trojans drop to 8-10 overall. DSU began this one going up two sets to one, but fell victim to another comeback.

In the loss, a few players had season-high marks for the Trojans. Sydney Schell had a season-high 24 digs, Madalyn Groft posted a season-high 13 kills and Maddi Langerock finished with a season-high 27 set assists. Both Groft and Langerock had double-doubles in the match with Groft adding 19 set assists and Langerock with 12 digs. Kate VanRooyan and Hannah Evans even had career-highs for DSU. VanRooyan with 32 digs and Evans had nine blocks, which is tied for ninth most single match blocks in DSU school history.

Dakota Wesleyan led in kills in the match 63-54 and led in digs 104-99.

Dakota State will get back to North Star Athletic Conference play on Friday when they host Dickinson State for the first game of a three-game homestand. First serve against Dickinson State is set for 5pm in the DSU Fieldhouse.
