Trojans Begin Conference Play: Game Preview – Dakota State vs Waldorf

Dakota State (0-2) will travel to Waldorf (1-1) out in Iowa for their first North Star Athletic Association matchup of the season.

This will be the 16th meeting between the two teams. Waldorf is ahead in the all-time series 8-7, but Dakota State owns the latest win. Which came in the last game at Trojan Field this past season with a 13-0 shutout. The Trojans are seeking their first road win against Waldorf since Oct. 7, 2017.

DSU comes into this game still searching for itself on offense. They average just 9.5 points per game through two games. Looking to get going in the ground game and fully put together the flashes of offense we’ve seen the first two weeks.

The Warriors allow 210 yards per game on the ground so this may be the day to get that ball rolling. Execution is the name of the game this week for the Trojans.

They will face a Waldorf team that got their first win in week one. They hit a roadblock the following week with a 63-7 loss to St. Francis (Ill.) in week two.

Senior Jatoviay Hill will lead the offense as the primary ball carrier for the Warriors. He comes in averaging 120 yards per game on the ground. Waldorf will lean on him and that run game to lead the way. Thankfully, DSU has a solid run defense coming to town to slow him down.

The game is set to kickoff at 4pm with the pregame beginning at 3:30pm on Jammin Country 103.
