Sunday Cornbelt Round up

In the Cornbelt League on Saturday, the Dell Rapids Mudcats powered their way to a 10-1 win over the Humboldt-Hartford Gamecocks. Dell Rapids potent offense was backed by an outstanding performance from starter Dalton Lehnen, who threw 8 innings while striking out 12. 

Dell Rapids PBR jumped ahead early in a 12-2 win over the Madison Broncos. PBR scored 7 runs in the 1st innings, and 2 more in the 2nd, on their way to the win. Riley Hoffman and Weston Hansen each had 2 runs and 2 RBI. Nate Ricke took the loss for the Broncos, after walking 5 batters in the 1st innings. 

All ten Cornbelt teams will be in action this weekend, during the 2nd Annual Cornbelt vs. Sunshine Showdown. Games start this Friday night with Salem taking on the Parkston Mudcats and Colman vs. Corsica/Stickney. Saturday’s slate of four games starts at noon with Humboldt-Hartford Wood Ducks vs. Crofton, followed by Madison vs. Miller-Wessington, Lennox vs Mount Vernon, and Canova vs. the Parkston Devil Rays. Sunday at noon with the Humboldt-Hartford Gamecocks vs. Platte, followed by PBR vs. Dimock/Emery, Flandreau vs. Alexandria and the Dell Rapids Mudcats vs. Winner/Colome.
