MLB Proposal For 3 Divisions Gaining Traction

It has been reported that Major League Baseball is thinking about moving to a three division system whenever the season does start. Essentially, for 2020, they would get rid of the American and National Leagues and fuse their division together. So they would have the AL East and NL East combine, AL and NL Central and then AL and NL East. The one stipulation would be that Atlanta would end up in the Central division.

With regional divisions, baseball could also shift to allowing the division games to take place in the home parks of each team. Teams would only play other teams within their division during the season. It sounds like Teams and players are backing this change for the season.
