Madison Lady Bulldogs to Compete in the Michael J. Entringer Scholarship Classic: Game Preview – Madison vs Castlewood
The Lady Bulldogs (0-4 overall, 0-2 Region 3A) remain on the road and head to the 26th Annual Michael J. Entringer Scholarship Classic to face Castlewood in Colman, SD.
Castlewood
Castlewood comes into this game struggling for the first time in a long time. It’s their first losing season (1-4 overall, 0-1 Region 2B) in the last 15+ years. Led by head coach Angela Keszler in her first season at the controls.
The Lady Warriors are led in scoring by senior Ella Hunter with 10.8 points per game. Hunter also leads in rebounds with 6.3 a game. Senior Presley Knecht follows Hunter in both scoring and rebounds with 8.3 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. This team doesn’t shoot it well as a team at only 27% from the field and 18% from deep. Castlewood scores just 30.6 points per game.
Madison
The Lady Bulldogs come in hoping to take advantage of an outlier year for this Castlewood program. Madison has dropped their first four games, losing three of the four by 20 or more points. The offense has struggled to catch a rhythm and remains hesitant to hoist up outside shots. In the last two games, the Madison offense has failed to score in double digits in any quarter.
Madison is led in scoring by Audrey Nelson with 12 points per game and leads in rebounds at 6.5 rebounds per game.. Followed in scoring by Ella Peterreins with five points per game.
The rotations have been on the good side of different as of late. They have even added another player to their varsity roster in sophomore guard Grace Fiege, who saw some action in their last game.
Tipoff is set for 6pm tonight in the Auxiliary Gym in Colman, with pregame set to begin at 5:50pm on AM 1390 Dakotas Best and YouTube. Subscribe to our channel “KJAMRadioMadison” on YouTube to be notified when we go live!
