Eleven teams will begin competition today, in the first ever “Class A” Girls State Tennis Meet. The South Dakota High School Activities Association split tennis into two classes this season for the first time ever. 

In Singles, Madison’s CC Graham will be the #4 seed in Flight 1, earning a first round bye. In Flight 2, Mya Maxwell is the #5 seed, and will also get an opening round bye. Lilly Wolff is the #6 seed in Flight 3, opening play against Annika Barnett from Vermillion. In Flight 4, Bulldog senior Emma Kruger is the #4 seed, while Evelyn Graham is the #5 seed in Flight 5. Bella Maxwell is the #6 seed in Flight 6, taken on Madison Johnson of Lennox. 

In Doubles CC Graham and Lilly Wolff will take on Vermillion in the opening round of Flight 1.  Bella and Mya Maxwell will play Pierre to start Flight 2, while Emily VanLiere and Evelyn Graham have a first round bye in Flight 3. 

The State Tennis meet begins today and runs through Tuesday in Sioux Falls.
