Madison Fails to Slow Down Castlewood; Losing 54-35 in the Michael J. Entringer Scholarship Classic
The Lady Bulldogs traveled to Colman, SD to play in the 26th Annual Girls Michael J. Entringer Scholarship Classic and fell to Castlewood, 54-35.
Madison now falls to 0-5 overall following the loss. A close one after one quarter and within reach at the half between these two teams. Castlewood began to pull away in the second half with the Madison defense not being able to get stops.
The Lady Warriors were led in scoring by Ella Hunter with 17 points, with 12 points coming in the second half. Also in double figures was Gracie Haug with 11 points. Castlewood kept the bodies fresh as 13 of their 15 players saw action and 11 playing in multiple quarters.
Hunter was named MVP of the game between the two teams.
Madison’s turnover bug continued to hurt them in the game. Including a number of players who ended up in foul trouble. One being Ella Peterreins with two first quarter fouls and three in the first half.
The Lady Bulldogs were led in scoring by Audrey Nelson who finished with 16 points and a perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line. Karley Lurz followed Nelson with seven points of her own and Callie McDermott added six points.

Madison’s Lady Bulldogs will be off until the turn of the calendar when they host Arlington on Jan. 2, 2024 in the Madison High School Gym.
