Madison Eyeing Three Straight Wins: Game Preview – Madison vs Lennox

The Madison Bulldogs (2-0 overall, 1-0 Region 3A) join the girls on their first road contest this season on the back end of a doubleheader with the Lennox Orioles.

Lennox

The Orioles (0-2 overall) come into this game averaging 53.5 points per game. They’ve had a tough start to the year, dropping their first two games. Mostly due to being without arguably the best player in the state of South Dakota, Porter Ihnen.

Ihnen is 6’6” senior committed to the University of South Dakota averaged 21 points per game last season. There’s a chance he makes his season debut in this game, but is likely a gametime decision. If he cannot go, junior Boston Katzer will start instead.

Lennox is a team that likes to get out on the break and press defensively. They’ve had an ugly start to the year shooting the ball on offense. Shooting just 33% from the field and a mere 14% from deep.

Madison

The Bulldogs come into the game led by Ben Brooks who is averaging 14 points per game and 8.5 rebounds. Madison shoots 43.4% from the field and 33.3% from beyond the arc. They’ve led by 16 or more in both of their first two games. Though they have allowed comeback efforts late in both outings. Definitely something to keep an eye on with this group. Something that certainly can’t happen against a team that likely gets their superstar back.

Madison has shown they can be an excellent team. If they’re able to get themselves to game in and game out consistency for four quarters, we can see this team make it to State. They average 18.5 points in the first quarter, but struggle in the second posting just nine points on average in the quarter.

Tonight’s game is set for tipoff at approximately 8pm with pregame to begin around 7:50pm on AM 1390 Dakotas Best and AmazingMadison.com
