Lady Bulldogs Stifled by Lady Dolphins; Fall to Deubrook Area 45-35

The Madison Lady Bulldogs’ comeback effort fell short at home and they ended up losing to the Deubrook Area Lady Dolphins at home, 45-35.

Madison stayed close most of the game, but both teams were struggling to shoot the entire game. No team shot 30% or higher from the field or from beyond the arc. With the Lady Bulldogs ending up coming away with the better shooting percentages, but ended up without the win. Madison falls to 1-11 overall on the season.

The second quarter is where the Lady Dolphins pulled away. Winning the second quarter 12-4. A strong first half from Kadence Bowne where she scored 10 of her 16 points that led all scorers. Following her for the Lady Dolphins was Kyarra Blum with eight points. Debrook Area had four different players get three or more steals in the game. They came away with 17 steals in the game on the Lady Dolphins.

The turnovers continue to keep the Lady Bulldogs from seeing the win column again. Madison had 25 turnovers in the game with 18 coming in the first half. Three starters finished with four or more turnovers. The Lady Bulldogs starting unit struggled offensively, going 7-35 (20%) from the field.

The Lady Bulldogs were led in scoring by Ella Malone off the bench with seven points. Followed by Callie McDermott who hit a pair of threes late and finished with six points. Madison won the rebound battle 48-40.

Next Game

Next the Lady Bulldogs will host West Central at home on Feb. 2 with another chance to take advantage of another team having a down year.
