Lady Bulldogs Play Third Game in Four Day Stretch: Game Preview – Madison vs Tea Area
The Madison Lady Bulldogs (1-9 overall, 1-3 Region 3A) are set to travel to Tea to take on the Tea Area Lady Titans.
Tea Area
The Lady Titans (9-2 overall, 2-0 Region 4A) are a tough team from top to bottom and they score at a very high rate. Averaging 62.4 points per game through 11 games. Size wise, they’re about the same as Madison overall, but their tallest player sits at 6’2” – the tallest of the two teams.
Though their size has not impacted how big they play this year. They’re holding opponents to just 44.7 points per game. They’re a big problem when they get out and run in transition. Which is one of the areas Madison struggles most.
Tea Area is led by head coach Adam Schorzmann. He is in his third season leading the Lady Titans and posts a 34-20 overall record and 11-3 in Region 4A.
Madison
Madison saw its first win this week, but also saw another loss when they visited Flandreau. The Lady Bulldogs didn’t even get 24 hours to soak in that win before they faced another opponent. This group has added some pieces to its varsity roster who have fared well and were big contributors to win number one.
Two of the three additions came after the turn of the calendar. Adding freshman forward Ella Malone and an eighth grader at guard, Jaya Engels. The first addition to the roster was Grace Feige back on Dec. 14 against Lennox.
These additions combined with the new rotation mixtures head coach Maxine Unterbrunner have played with have seen its bright spots. The next step is to build chemistry between the players. Which could be challenging at this point in the season, yet doable.
The Lady Bulldogs average just 31.4 points per game through 10 games this season. Audrey Nelson leads the team in scoring at 10.9 points per game. This team has scored above 30 points just once in the last four outings. They’ll need more offense from everyone if they hope to take down these Lady Titans.
Tipoff is set for 7pm with the pregame beginning at approximately 6:50pm on AM 1390 Dakotas Best and KJAMRadioMadison on YouTube.
