Lady Bulldogs Finish Three Game Homestand vs Lady Mustangs: Game Preview – Madison vs Tri-Valley

The Madison Lady Bulldogs (0-2 overall, 0-1 Region 3A) play their last of a three game home stand tonight when they host the Tri-Valley Lady Mustangs.

Tri-Valley

The Lady Mustangs come into this game (1-1 overall, 1-0 Region 3A) and averaging 54 points per game. Both games they’ve played in so far have been decided by a total of five points. In their last outing, they fell to Parkston on the road. They shot 37% from the field, 25% from deep and just 57% from the free throw line.

They’ve had struggles shooting from deep this season, but they will continue to shoot it. Tri-Valley is very active defensively, even more so than Elk Point-Jefferson was. Even though they lost, the Lady Mustangs came away with 18 steals against Parkston. If they can get the shots to fall, they’ll be tough to beat.

Dan Jewett is the head coach of the Lady Mustangs. He is in his eighth season at the helm and has a 75-85 overall record, going 28-32 in Region 3A play.

Madison

The Lady Bulldogs are still searching for win number one after dropping their opening two games. Audrey Nelson leads the way averaging 19.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and two assists per game. Leading in all three categories for Madison.

This team’s priority at the moment is taking care of the basketball. They currently average 25 turnovers per game and just five assists per game.

Though we have seen what this team can be. The opening quarter of play in their last outing against EPJ was a perfect example. They had ball movement, active defensively and were taking and making their open shots. It’ll be something they’ll have to put together for four quarters if they want to beat a tough Tri-Valley team, as well as, other opponents.

The game is scheduled for tipoff at 6:30pm with pregame at approximately 6:20pm on AM 1390 Dakotas Best.
