Lady Bulldogs Efforts Come Up Short on the Road; Lose 71-42

The Madison Lady Bulldogs had a strong effort, but couldn’t slow down the Lady Tanager and end up losing, 71-42.

Vermillion came out of the gates firing and established themselves early. They had some early mental mistakes that resulted in turnovers, but the Lady Bulldogs couldn’t take advantage. The shots were struggling to fall early for Madison. The Lady Tanager won the opening quarter 29-7.

The Lady Tanagers were the aggressors from the jump and set the tone early. Forcing the Lady Bulldogs to turn the ball over and taking advantage of their skills in the paint. They saw 21 foul shots in the game due the aggressiveness and cashed in on 14 of them.

The only quarter Madison won was the third quarter coming out of halftime. They outscored the Lady Tanagers 19-12 and hit three threes. Audrey Nelson scored nine of her 12 points in the third. Her 12 points led the Lady Bulldogs in scoring.

Leading the Lady Tanagers in scoring was a trio of players with 13 points. Those being Brooklyn Voss, Jenaya Cleveland and Brooke Jensen. One other player was in double figures, which was their eighth grader Taylor Reuvers who added 11.

Coming up next the Lady Bulldogs will host Alcester Hudson in the Madison high School Gym on Feb. 8 with the game set to tipoff at 7:15pm.
