Lady Bulldogs Break Through for First Win; Defeat Baltic 54-38

The Madison Lady Bulldogs never trailed on Monday night, as they won their first game of the season with a 54-38 victory over the Baltic Bulldogs.

Madison opened up an early 10-2 lead thanks to two quick 3-pointers from senior Karley Lurz. Madison led 16-8 at the end of the 1st quarter, and 30-14 at halftime. 

Baltic opened the 3rd quarter on a 10-2 run to cut the lead back to single digits, but Madison’s bench pushed the lead back to double digits by the end of the quarter, Madison led by at least 12 points for the rest of the game. 

Callie McDermott and Audrey Nelson led the scoring for Madison with nine points each. Nelson added nine rebounds as well. Lurz, Grace Feige, and Ella Malone each finished with six points. Madison collected 18 offensive rebounds, and forced 23 Baltic turnovers. 

Batlic was led in scoring by Harper Kortemeyer, who scored 13 points. Baylee Breece had nine points and 10 rebounds. 

Next Game

Baltic fell to 1-9 with the loss, while Madison is now 1-8. Madison will travel to Flandreau tonight to take on the undefeated Flandreau Fliers.
