Flandreau Beats Salem 16-1 in Make-Up Game for Cornbelt League

The Flandreau Cardinals ran away with a 16-1 victory over the Salem Cubs in Cornbelt Baseball League action last night in a make-up game from May 27. Ten Cardinals recorded an RBI and Jacob Patterson homered in the win. Jacob Vonberge had the only hit for Salem in the loss. Each team’s next game will be against Humboldt/Hartford on Thursday, June 3. Flandreau will host the Gamecocks and Salem will visit the Wood Ducks. Both games start at 7:30 p.m.

In other Cornbelt League action, the Madison Broncos won in walk off fashion defeating Colman 4-3 in the bottom of the 10th. Nick Bird notched the victory and also hit a fielder’s choice game winner. Thursday night Madison travels to Canova to take on the Gang. First pitch is at  7:30 pm.  You can hear that game on Jammin’ Country 103.
