Bulldogs Volleyball Team Loses 1st Match of the Season

The Madison Bulldogs Volleyball team lost their first match of the season on Tuesday, falling to #1 Sioux Falls Christian 3 sets to 0. Madison, who is ranked #5 in the latest Class A poll, battled with the Chargers in a closely contested first set. Sioux Falls never led by more than four points, on their way to a 25-23 win in the first. 

Madison struggled in set two. The Chargers jumped out to a fourteen point lead, and cruised to a 25-10 win. The Bulldogs took their first lead of the match in set three, going up early by two points. After three ties Madison took the lead again, going up 15-9. But the Chargers rallied from there, tying the set a 23, and going on to win 25-23. 

Audrey Nelson had 14 kills and five blocks to lead the Bulldogs. Amanda Vacanti had six kills, and Callie McDermott 14 digs for the Bulldogs. Karley Theed had 24 assists. 

The Bulldogs are now 8-1 on the year, and will travel to Lennox on Thursday to take on the 3-1 Orioles.
