Bulldogs Set to Play Second Game of Three-Game Road Stretch: Game Preview – Madison vs Beresford

The Madison Bulldogs (6-7 overall, 2-2 Region 3A) will get set to play game two of three straight road contests tonight when they travel to Beresford to play the Watchdogs.

Beresford

The Watchdogs (5-9 overall, 1-3 Region 4A) have struggled so far this season. Only one of their five wins is on their homecourt. They have a fair mix of veterans and young players, but haven’t pieced things together.

Beresford scores 51.6 points per game through 14 games this season. They’re a fairly lengthy team and have a player that is near the height of Madison’s Ben Brooks. The Watchdogs are very scrappy and have the ability to win a game with their defense and interior scoring. They do not shoot the three well, but can knock down foul shots if they see the free throw line.

Ben Short is the head coach of the Watchdogs and in his third season. He posts a 28-28 overall record and 7-12 in Region 4A.

Madison

Madison is approaching a “prove it” type game. After all three losses on the road for the Bulldogs coming in comeback fashion. They need to prove they can close out games on the road.

The Bulldogs have begun to commit to playing through Brooks and it proved to be a positive for its offense. Regardless of the loss last time out, the offense looked to flow well through Brooks. Elijah Sims and Brooks both coming off season-high scoring marks will be good for their confidence going forward.

This group averages 55 points per game through 13 games this season. Once Madison can keep their foot on the gas when they have leads, they’ll be where they need to be.

Tipoff is set for 7:30pm with the pregame beginning at 7:20pm on AM 1390 Dakotas Best and KJAMRadioMadison on YouTube.
