Bulldogs Set to Battle Cavaliers in Dak 12/NEC Boys Clash: Game Preview – Madison vs Aberdeen Roncalli

The Madison Bulldogs (6-5 overall, 2-2 Region 3A) are set to compete in the Dak 12/NEC Boys Clash hosted in Madison, SD against the Aberdeen Roncalli Cavaliers.

Aberdeen Roncalli

Aberdeen Roncalli (7-5 overall, 3-1 Region 1A) is the type of team that can sneak up on you. They can fall flat or shoot the lights out at any moment. They protect the paint pretty well compared to most high school teams and they spread the ball around on offense.

One thing to note about this team and their seven wins on the year. Only one of their seven wins is against a team with an above .500 record. Including all of their five losses being by double digits.

They’re led by head coach Dan Gallagher. He is in his second season at the helm holding a 15-17 overall record and 4-5 in Region 1A.

Madison

Madison comes into this game off its highest scoring game of the season and its highest margin of victory as well. Including a season-high scoring night for Chuck Callahan. However this opponent will pose more problems than Chamberlain did last time out.

They return back home for this game, but will be playing on their alternate floor. Not the main high school gym where they have dropped two of their last three home games. This could serve as a refresher for Madison to get back to their winning ways at home where they began the season 3-0.

The offense was hot last week and hopes to carry over this momentum at home. The defense is beginning to show flashes of how good it can be. After this game, Madison will be on the road for the next three games so this game is even more important.

Tipoff is set for 5:45pm with the pregame beginning at approximately 5:35pm on AM 1390 Dakotas Best.
