Bulldogs Seeking First Win: Game Preview – Madison vs West Central

Madison Bulldogs (0-2) hit the road to Hartford, SD to take on West Central (2-0) in their second road game of the season.

In 2022, the Bulldogs fell just short of overcoming the Trojans at home and lost 25-28. We saw what this year’s offense could do this past week though once they got rolling. This team can score. If there was a time to keep the offensive momentum going, it’s now.

Madison has a difficult first half schedule and need to find the win column in general, but especially against the tough teams. Because it’s what they’ll need to know how to do come playoff time to advance. Establishing a rush attack could help with that. They average just 75.5 yards a game on 2.7 yards per carry.

West Central has a defense that hasn’t allowed more than 13 points in a game so far – allowing less than 20 total points on the year (19). Bulldogs average 23.5 points per game and opened up last week with 34 points. Prepare for a nice offense/defense battle.

Madison has four interceptions on the season, three coming from Andrew Comes last week. The defense also has three sacks on the year.

The team has made some changes on defense during practice this week. Expect to see a new face starting on defense this week, along with a new face starting on offense as well. We’ll see if the changes make enough of a difference to overcome the Trojans.

Madison vs West Central is set to kickoff at 7pm with pregame beginning at 6:30pm on AM 1390.
