Bulldogs Look to Play Spoilers: Game Preview – Madison vs Sioux Falls Christian

The Madison Bulldogs (5-4 overall, 2-1 Region 3A) have an immediate return to the court as they are home for more Region 3A action to face Sioux Falls Christian.

Sioux Falls Christian

The Chargers (7-0 overall, 2-0 Region 3A) are blemish free so far this season and regarded as one of the top teams in the state. They average 66 points per game so far this season through seven games.

Mike Schouten is the head coach of the Chargers. It’s his 17th season at the helm for Sioux Falls Christian. He posts a 318-87 overall record and 37-14 in 10 seasons of Region 3A play.

Sioux Falls Christian is deep from top to bottom. They are a young team, on top of how dynamic they are. No seniors on this team and no players under six feet tall.

Madison

Madison may be coming into this with some tired legs after playing a wire-to-wire game against Dell Rapids the night before. Though, the tough matchup on the back-to-back doesn’t scare head coach Jeff Larsen. Stating in the Mustang Seeds postgame show “Why not us?” in response to the challenge ahead against Sioux Falls Christian.

Hopefully his energy trickles into this Bulldog squad and gets them clicking on all cylinders. This group has dropped three of its last four games and have struggled to close out games. They should be sitting at 3-0 on the road and as many wins as the Chargers, but blown leads have them sitting where they are at the moment.

Ben Brooks leads this team in scoring with just over 11 points per game. He’s been stellar defensively, but they’ll need him to pick up his aggression on the offensive side of the ball to help give this team a boost it desperately needs.

Tipoff is set for 7:45pm with pregame beginning at approximately 7:35pm on AM 1390 Dakotas Best.
