Bulldogs Hoping for Second Road Win: Game Preview – Madison vs Chamberlain

The Madison Bulldogs (5-5 overall, 2-2 Region 3A) will travel for another road contest today when they head to Chamberlain to face the Cubs.

Chamberlain

Chamberlain (1-8 overall, 1-2 Region 5A) was on an eight-game losing streak until they snapped that streak last night on the road against Bon Homme. Though one streak for the Cubs still stands. That being their six-game losing streak on their homecourt dating back to last season.

The Cubs average just 45.6 points per game through nine games on the season. Not the most efficient team shooting the ball, but they are lengthy and can cause problems on defense. They have just one player on their team under six feet tall.

They’re led by head coach Steve Schoenhard in his third season. Posts a 20-32 overall record, going 4-6 in Region 5A play over the last two seasons.

Madison

Madison is currently on the heels of their second back-to-back losing spell of the year. They have a chance to return to their winning ways in this game, but they’ll have to overcome their road woes first. It’ll be one of their longest trips this season and this team sits 1-2 on the road this season. Allowing two late-game comebacks in both road losses.

Ben Brooks leads in scoring for Madison at 11.6 points per game. Brooks has only scored in single digits once this season, but has yet to eclipse 15 points. His Bulldogs haven’t scored at the same rate they did before the turn of the calendar and its defense has struggled as well. Going just 1-3 overall in the year 2024. They’ll look to take advantage of the struggling Cubs and get back above .500 overall.

Tipoff is set for 7pm tonight with the pregame beginning at approximately 6:50pm on AM 1390 Dakotas Best and KJAMRadioMadison on YouTube.
