Bulldogs Hang On for Back-to-Back Wins; Defeat Tri-Valley, 46-43

The Madison Bulldogs come away victorious again after taking down the Tri-Valley Mustangs, 46-43 at home.

A near comeback effort by Tri-Valley almost spoiled the night of the Madison Bulldogs. It was spearheaded by their leader in scoring, Brady Jewett. Who finished with 16 points, 13 coming in the second half. Trey Johnson added 10 points in the scoring department for Tri-Valley.

As a team, the Mustangs shot just 30.8% from the field and 25% from three. They didn’t win the game, but won the rebound battle 39-34 and gave themselves extra possessions

Even though Madison came away with the win, it’s now the second time in its first two games where they have given up 20 or more points in the fourth quarter. Allowing teams to regain life and come back in the game.

The Bulldogs played excellent through three quarters and dominated the game. They held the Mustangs to single digits scoring in each of the first three quarters. Along with a bevy of blocks from Ben Brooks to spearhead that defense. The moment they stay committed on both ends of the floor for four quarters, we’ll know what this team can really be.

Brooks paced the Bulldogs in scoring with 15 points, 10 of which came in the first half. Followed by Andrew Comes with eight and seven from Elijah Sims.

Next Game

Madison will hit the road for the first time on Thursday when they head to Lennox to face the Orioles and hope to continue their winning ways.
