Bulldogs Desperate for Wins As Last Two Region Games Approach: Game Preview – Madison vs McCook Central-Montrose

The Madison Bulldogs (6-8 overall, 2-2 Region 3A) will round out their three game road trip with a journey to Montrose to take on the McCook Central-Montrose Fighting Cougars.

MCM

The Fighting Cougars (4-11 overall, 1-1 Region 3A) have struggled mightily this season. Just four wins to show for the year through 14 games. They’ve won just one of their last seven games. They broke their six-game losing skid in their latest game in a win by two points over Garretson 49-47.

MCM struggles to score the ball on offense. Only averaging 44.6 points per game through its first 15 games. Their defense is nothing to rave about either. They allow opponents 54.9 points per game this season.

Trent Sabers is the head coach of the Fighting Cougars. He is in just his first season at the helm and trying to turn around a program that has seen struggles the last few years. Sabers is their third head coach in the last three seasons.

Madison

Madison is coming into the game desperate for a win. They’re on their first three-game losing streak of the season and have dropped five of their last six games.

Their scoring has improved and been consistently high in number in regards to putting the ball in the hoop. Though the defense has suffered as the offense has shown more light. Three of their last four losses have been by double digits. Madison is under the microscope this game and the next with these being their last two region games on the schedule.

The Bulldogs have failed to keep their foot on the gas in games in which they’re ahead and have firm leads. Slim leads included because it has become a theme for this group. Late-game discipline is something the Bulldogs will need to learn and learn it fast.

Tipoff is set for 7:30pm with the pregame beginning at approximately 7:20pm on AM 1390 Dakotas Best and online at AmazingMadison.com.
