Bulldogs Can’t Contain Hot Night from Cavaliers; Lose 62-51 in Dak 12/NEC Boys Clash

The Madison Bulldogs fall in their matchup with Aberdeen Roncalli in the Dak 12/NEC Boys Clash, 62-51.

Madison falls to 6-6 overall as they drop their third straight home game. The Cavaliers were hot all night long shooting the basketball against the Bulldogs. They shot 60% or better in both halves and ended the game 60.6% from the field and 60% from beyond the arc.

The Bulldogs primary scorers in the game were Ben Brooks who led with 16 points and Chuck Callahan who had 14 points. Though their points were a struggle to garnish against the Cavs. Their 30 points combined was on 33 total shots.

It was just one of those nights for the Cavs who were taking and making tough shots. They ended up with 12 made threes in the game. 10 of which came from their leading scorers Maddox Miller and Keegan Stewart. Miller led all scorers with 25 points and five made threes, including being named MVP of the game. Stewart also had five made threes and finished with 20 points.

The Madison defense came away with 11 steals out of the 15 turnovers Aberdeen Roncalli had. Though they were unable to cash in on most of those steals. Including having trouble at the free throw line going just 4-9 (44.4%) from the charity stripe. The Cavs won the rebound battle 27-21.

Next Game

Next Madison will play on Monday in Vermillion against the Tanagers at 7pm. It’ll be a the first stop on a three-game road trip for the Bulldogs.
