Battle of the Bulldogs: Game Preview – Madison vs Baltic

The Madison Bulldogs (3-1 overall, 1-0 Region 3A) hit the road for the second time this season to face the Baltic Bulldogs.

Baltic

The Baltic Bulldogs come into the game ranked 24th in the state, while Madison is ranked 49th. This team is a solid team top to bottom. Baltic has already managed three of their four wins on the year to be by 20 points or more. Averaging 61.4 points per game as a team through five games.

Senior Jack Erickson leads Baltic in scoring with 21.2 points per game and also leads in steals with three per game. Following him in scoring is senior Mark Ditter with just under 10 points at 9.8 points a contest.

This team does most of their damage inside the arc. Baltic shoots 60% from two compared to 30% from three. Where they struggle is the free throw line. Shooting just 20-for-51 (39%) from the charity stripe in their first five games. Defensively, they play a two-three zone – something Madison is quite accustomed to.

Madison

Madison comes into this game after a strong performance at home. They’re led in scoring by Ben Brooks with 12 points per game. The Madison Bulldogs have another player scoring in double figures with Andrew Comes is second in scoring with 11 points per game. Myles Schneider adds just shy of 10 points at 9.8 points per game off the bench.

This is a chance for redemption on the road for Madison. Losing their only game on the road to the Lennox Orioles and their late comeback. Madison showed out on Tuesday for a season-high 73 points and season-high 11 made threes in the win over Deubrook Area.

The offense limited their turnovers the last time out and are really starting to share the ball. They’ll be tested on the road and see if they can come out on top on this road trip.

Tipoff is set for 7:30pm in Baltic with the pregame beginning at 7:20 on AM 1390 Dakotas Best and on YouTube @KJAMRadioMadion. Subscribe to know when we are going live!
