Annual Corn Palace Stampede Rodeo Cancelled

The annual Corn Palace Stampede Rodeo that was set for July 14-19 in Mitchell has been cancelled due to the coronavirus. Social distancing issues led to the decision to be made at the end of last week. This year would have marked the 50th anniversary of the event, starting back in 1971.

Corn Palace Stampede Rodeo, Inc. is a non-profit organization and the event is supported by volunteers and sponsorships, but securing both this year, while assurance of financial and physical safety grew complicated.
