Community Center to Launch New Youth Basketball League

A new basketball league will tip off in Madison in the New Year. The Madison Community Center will be hosting a youth basketball league for boys and girls in grades 3 through 6. Samantha Tighe, recreation coordinator for the Community Center says they’ve been looking for ways to better utilize the facilities in town.

The Community Center will provide the space for practice and games, handle scheduling, and provide referees. Forming teams and coaching will be handled by the individual coaches or parents that form each team. Cost is two-hundred dollars per team.

Tighe says, while they are not forming teams, they will try to help individuals who are looking for a team to play with.

Teams from Madison or any surrounding community are welcome to participate. Teams can sign up by contacting the Madison Community Center.
