Dell Rapids wins State B Legion Title

Dell Rapids came back from an early deficit to claim the 2023 South Dakota State B Legion title with a 5-2 win over Elk Point-Jefferson on Tuesday. 

Elk Point-Jefferson scored two unearned runs in the top of the first to take the lead. Dell Rapids scored three in the 3rd to take the lead. 

Elk Point-Jefferson put two batters on base with one out in the 7th. But Brayden Pankonen picked off a runner at first for the second out, then forced a ground out to seal the win.

Dell Rapids finished the season with a 29-3 overall record. This is the first title for Dell Rapids since 2018.
