Willa Lolling, 75 of Lake Preston died Saturday, February 12, 2022 at her rural farm home near Lake Preston.

Willa Lea Isaacson was born on October 13th, 1946, to Weldon and Luella Isaacson. She grew up on a farm in rural Lake Preston, not far from the country school she attended through the 8th grade. She married the love of her life, James Lolling, on June 21st, 1972. To this union of 50 years, 4 girls were born.  Together, James and Willa made a life on the farm. Willa nurtured and loved all. She poured her whole self into her family, her nursing career, and gardening.

Throughout her life she enjoyed planting and watching the flowers bloom and harvesting the gardens every year. As gardening was one of her passions, she became a Master Gardener through South Dakota State University. In her many years at the farm, she grew many gardens and flowerbeds that were simply unbelievable.

Above all, she had the gift of compassion that she gave generously in the nursing field. She worked many years as a CNA, which led to her fulfilling her dream of becoming a Nurse. She graduated from Huron University in 1992 as a Registered Nurse. She also continued her education and completed her certification in Gerontological Nursing. With her passion of caring for others, she worked many years in the Kingsbury Memorial Manor before retiring from the Arlington Care Center in 2017. Her kind and caring ability still resonates today that she was the nurse that took care of many loved ones in their last days.

Willa was a firecracker with a natural ability to befriend anyone and everyone. Willa greeted everyone by throwing her arms open and embracing them in the best hug imaginable. She always dressed with a zest for life and always had a smart remark to keep everyone on their toes. Her favorite memories were spent with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Many hammock swings, golfcart rides, and amazing meals were always gifted by her presence. She was all about making memories in life. She especially enjoyed camping in her RV with her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Wayne and Jamie Isaacson, and sisters-in-law Yvonne (Kevin) Isaacson and Junie (Wayne) Isaacson.
