Ruth was a homemaker and mother on their family farm in rural Howard, SD where they raised their 5 children.  As her children grew older, she enjoyed her time working for Raven Industries in Howard.  She was a member of Sun Prairie Baptist Church of rural Salem, which was always the center of her life’s activities.  Ruth and George spent many warm winters in Sun City, AZ.  George died on May 27, 2003.  The following year, Ruth moved from the family farm to Sioux Falls.  Ruth was married to Daryl Widboom on November 4, 2006 until his passing on August 17, 2019.  In late 2019 Ruth moved to Trail Ridge Senior Living where she quickly made new friends.  Ruth was a devoted mother and grandma and loved nothing more than spending time with her family.  She was a doll collector, puzzler, and always first to enjoy a competitive game with family and friends.
