Kristi Lorang

Kristi Lorang, 48, of Humboldt passed away unexpectedly of natural causes at her home on August 8, 2020.  A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, August 17 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Humboldt.  Visitation with family present will begin at 4:30 pm on Sunday with a prayer service at 6 pm at Kinzley Funeral Home, Hartford Chapel, 100 N Mundt Ave.

Kristy Jo Smeby was born March 13, 1972 to Edward and Patricia (Moug) Smeby in Fargo, ND.  She attended South High School in Fargo and went on to receive her degree as a paralegal from Colorado Technical University.  She married David Lorang on October 4, 2003 in Ellsworth, MN.

Kristy was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church.  She enjoyed baking and loved cheering on her 3 children at their sporting events.  Her witty personality was an endearing quality that her family and friends will miss and cherish the most.

Kristy is survived by: her husband, Dave and their children Morgan, Zach and Nick of Humboldt; her mother, Pat Smeby of Fargo, ND; brother Jason Smeby of Fargo, ND; uncles and aunts, Larry (Deb) Moug, Jeff Moug, Terry (Joanne) Smeby and Leroy Upton; parents-in-law, Dan and Monica Lorang; siblings-in-law, Chris (Alisha) Lorang, Ray (Tracey) Lorang, Barb (Toby) Smythe and Beth (Casey) Harkema; 11 nieces and nephews; and many beloved friends and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents.
