Henry Scheuren

Henry J. Scheuren, 84, of Epiphany, passed away on August 26, 2022 at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell, SD.  Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, August 30 at Church of the Epiphany in Epiphany, SD.  Visitation with family present will begin at 6 pm on Monday, with a prayer service at 7 pm at Kinzley Funeral Home, Salem.

Henry was born July 17, 1938 to Peter and Marie (Eich) Scheuren on the family farm near Epiphany, SD.  Henry and his brother, Don farmed together all their lives until moving into Epiphany in 1994.  Don passed away in 1997.  Henry married Ruth Eich on November 13, 2004.

Henry was a member of the Church of Epiphany and the Catholic Order of Foresters.  He loved to cook and host for large family gatherings, especially Thanksgiving.  You could find him playing pinochle with his friends and his wife, Ruth, who he adored.

Henry is survived by: his brother, Arnold of Spencer; nephew Ray (Sandy) Scheuren of Spencer and niece Diane (Lynn) Haiar of Alexandria; step-son, Larry (Diane) Eich of Epiphany; great-nieces and nephew, Brandon (Becki), Shannon (Casey), Crystal (Lee), Mandy (Mike) and Liz (Kyle); and several other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Ruth on December 8, 2021, brother, Donald and sister, Mary Lou.
