Francis Miller

Francis “Lee” Miller, 88, of Canistota passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, February 12, 2022.  A memorial gathering will be held at a later date.

Francis Miller was born November 11, 1933 in Sioux Falls, SD to Harry and Elizabeth (Schulte) Miller.  On September 25, 1954 he married Betty Corria.  This union was blessed with two children, Michael and Karen.

Lee was a member of the American Legion in Canistota and enjoyed spending his mornings at the Total Stop in Canistota having coffee and visiting.  In his younger years Lee could be found racing motorcycles and stock cars at Huset’s Speedway and around the Midwest where he collected many trophies. He also competed riding horses in the Saddle Club.

Lee is survived by his granddaughters, Jamie (Robert) Pringle of Sioux Falls and Jessica Marquardt of Sioux Falls; great-grandchildren, Hailee and Olivia; and a sister, Dee Hightower of Wichita Falls, TX.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, his son, Michael Miller, his daughter, Karen Hoffman and a brother-in-law, John Hightower.
