Dwayne Hanson, 81, of Madison, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, April 28, 2023.

Dwayne David Hanson was born on January 21, 1942 to Roy and Mrytle (Hagemann) Hanson on a farm west of Ramona.  He was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church of Ramona.  He graduated in 1960 from Ramona High School.  He was drafted into the Army on July 28, 1964.  After he got out of the service he began truck driving, which he did for the remainder of his career.  

In October of 1964 he married Sue Coones.  They lived in the Ramona area until the early 1990s when they moved to the Black Hills area and resided there until 2018. 

Dwayne is survived by his wife, Sue; children Tom Ault, of Olathe, KS, Susan Eykamp of Oldham, SD, Shelly (Kory) Rawstern of Madison, SD, and Jason (Angela) Hanson of Black Hawk, SD; 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; Aunt Lois Hagemann, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and special cousin/friend, Gregory Hanson.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Gary and son-in-law, David Eykamp.
