Dorothy Larsen

Dorothy Larsen, 92, of Madison passed away Thursday, March 28, 2024 at Dells Rehab and Care Center in Dell Rapids.  Funeral services will begin at 10:30 am on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at Wentworth United Presbyterian Church in Wentworth, SD. Burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery in Wentworth.  Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Monday, April 8 with a 7 pm prayer service at Kinzley Funeral Home in Madison.

Dorothy Thompson was born April 29, 1931 to William and Rose (Martenell) Thompson.  She grew up in Madison and graduated from Madison High School.  On August 24, 1957 she married Carl Larsen in Luverne, MN.  She worked on the farm with Carl as well as working as a cook at Crossroads in Colman for several years.  Carl passed away in 2015.

She was a member of the Wentworth United Presbyterian Church as well as the American Legion Auxiliary.

Dorothy is survived by: her son, Larry of Madison; her grandsons, Logan (Jacky) and Landon of Wentworth and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and two brothers, Arnold and Wilmer Thompson.
