Dale C. “Pete” Korkow, 93, of Canistota passed away as he lived, quietly at the Freeman Hospital on Friday, November 12, 2021.  Funeral services will begin at 11 am on Wednesday, November 17 at Zion Lutheran Church in Canistota.  Burial will follow in the Canistota Cemetery.  Visitation with the family present will be from 5-7 pm on Tuesday with a 7 pm prayer service at Kinzley Funeral Home in Salem.

Dale Carl Korkow, son of William and Wilhelmina (Giegling) Korkow was born February 10, 1928 at the farm northeast of Canistota where he lived his entire life.  Dale attended Greenland #4 country school and helped on the farm until he entered the Army in April of 1946 at Ft. Snelling in Minneapolis.  He proudly served his country until his discharge in April of 1947.  He then returned to the family farm and continued in partnership with his brother Frank.  They retired from farming in 2008.

He loved to go hunting with his brothers and enjoyed cookies, visiting and going to coffee.  Dale was a very active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Canistota.

He is survived by his sister, Alice Taylor of St. James, MN and many nieces and nephews who mourn his loss.

He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers, Leonard, Alvin, Bill, John, Martin, Franklin, and Ronald and six sisters, Louise, Erna, Mabel, Loretta, Doris and Ardelle.
