Unterbrunner Looking Forward to First Season as Head Coach

Already familiar with coaching at Madison High School, Maxine Unterbrunner has added Women’s Head Basketball coach to her title on top of already being the Head Track and Field coach for the Bulldogs.

This will not be her first time coaching basketball, having been an assistant basketball coach for Madison in the past, but this is her first time as the head basketball coach.

Between teaching at Madison, coaching track and field, and now also having the duties of coaching basketball, it can be difficult at times to balance everything at once. While acknowledging it will be a challenge, Unterbrunner believes that she has good assistant coaches in place to help.

Once Unterbrunner starts getting into the routine of coaching basketball again, she is confident things will start going smoothly as she has already started getting ready for this upcoming season.

Sports can teach many life skills like how to deal with adversity and also helps to keep people involved, both socially and activiely. As a multi-sport coach herself, Unterbrunner knows the impact of not just being involved with a sport, but being involved in multiple sports.

Going into her first season as the head coach of the women’s basketball team, there are goals she has in mind other than just simply wins and losses.

The basketball season may not start until December, but Unterbrunner is already putting the work in to make sure she and her team have the success that she is hoping to achieve.
