The Madison Track & Field team set MHS records in the Pole Vault at Tea Invitational

The Madison Track & Field team competed in the Tea Invitational on Tuesday with a couple of athletes setting MHS records in the Pole Vault.

Individually for the girls, Izzy Gors placed 1st in the 100 Meter Dash. Abby Brooks placed second in both the 200m dash and the 100m hurdles.  Jessie Tappe and Ellie Keller took 2nd and 3rd in the 800m run.  The 800m Relay team of Gors, Ella Peterreins, Kylie Krusemark and Brooks finished 2nd, with the 1600m Relay team of Krusemark, Kate Comes, Jessie Tappe and Brooks placing 1st.  

In the field events for the MHS girls, Emily VanLiere placed 2nd in the High Jump.  Juliana Hodges was 2nd in the shot put with Bella Maxwell finishing 3rd.  In the Pole Vault, Kylie Krusemark placed second with a jump of 9 feet 3 inches which is #5 on the Bulldog top 10 Pole Vaults.  Ella Peterreins placed 3rd with a jump of 8 feet 9 inches which is 7th on the Bulldog top 10 Pole Vaults.

For the MHS boys,  Mickale Dohrer finished 2nd in the 400m Dash and 3rd in the 800m run.   The 800M Relay team of Bruce Galde, Nate Ricke, Aspen Dahl and Kadin Hanscom finished 2nd.  The 1600M Relay team finished 1st.  That team was made up of Braeden Keller, Dohrer, Ricke and Dahl.   

In the field events for the Bulldog boys, Kadin Hanscom was 3rd in the Triple Jump with Truman Stoller finishing 5th.  Colby Vostad and Trey Smith finished three and four in the discus.  Sam Olson placed second in the Pole Vault with Aaron Hawkes finishing 4th.  

The Madison Track and Field team has a busy weekend.  They will be at the O’Gorman Invite on Friday and finish the week at the Howard Wood Relays on Saturday in Sioux Falls.
