Multiple First Place Finishes for Bulldogs at Hanson Invite

During the Hanson Invitational this week, both Madison boys and girls teams placed in the top three with a combined eight event winners.

Four of the event winners for the Lady Bulldogs were in field events. Audrey Nelson again had a first place finish in the High Jump with her jump of 5’6. Lydia Nelson, who finished third in the High Jump, also finished first in the Triple Jump with her leap of 35’6.75, which is her new PR. 

In the Long Jump, Maycee Theede finished first with her 16’1 (PR) jump, and Sophia Peterreins had another strong day Pole Vaulting, placing first with a personal record vault of 9’3. 

The other first place finish for the Lady Bulldogs came in the 4x800m Relay, as the team of Ellie Keller, Ashtyn Rustand, Jessie Tappe, and Sammy Troxell had a first place time of 10:28.02.

The Madison boys team also had a first place Pole Vaulter, as Aaron Hawkes finished in first with his vault of 13’6. 

Shane Veenhoff placed first in the 110m Hurdles with his time of 16.44.

As a team, the Madison girls team finished second (112 points) and the boys team placed third (110). Both boys and girls teams for West Central placed first.

Madison’s next meet is tomorrow when they compete in the Region 3A meet that will be held at West Central.
