Madison Maroon 16U’s baseball team got off to a hot start against Elkton last Thursday, taking a five to one lead in the first inning and winning by mercy rule in the fourth inning 16 to 1. 

 

Madison was led by Tyler Olson who pitched three innings. He allowed one run, one hit, and struck out five batters. Casyn Crabtree replaced him in the fourth and ended the game.

 

The team had 11 hits on the day. Quincy Kurtz went three for three on the day and scored twice. Gavin Schneider went two for three while scoring twice and having one RBI. Cohen Hahn led the team with four RBI’s. Elkton was led by Elliot Erickson who got the Elks their only hit. 

 

Madison is now 2-0 and will go face Dell Rapids this Friday.
