Madison Losses at Home to Elk Point-Jefferson

In their second to last home match of the season, the Madison Bulldogs volleyball team lost to the Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies in four sets.

The first set, the Huskies got out to the early lead, and despite a late comeback attempt from the Bulldogs, EPJ took the first set with a 25-19 score. 

The second set was even closer for Madison, as they started to rally back and tied it up with the Huskies at 20-20 before grabbing their first lead of the set at 23-20. However, the Huskies still managed to escape with a 26-24 set win to get the 2-0 match lead.

In a critical third set for the Bulldogs, they got out in front early and didn’t give it up, winning the set 25-19. 

Elk Point-Jefferson in the fourth set once again got in front early and managed to hold the lead until Madison began to start to rally back. The Bulldogs managed to tie it up at 22-22, however the Huskies pulled away late to get the 25-23 set win, allowing them to win the match over the Bulldogs 3-1. 

Audrey Nelson, Madison, led the match in kills with 23. She also added 15 digs and three blocks. Amanda Vacanti had 14 kills, 15 assists, and a match lead of 4 blocks for the Bulldogs. Maycee Theede led the Bulldogs with 20 digs.

The loss dropped Madison to a 12-14 overall record on the season. 

Next Tuesday, October 25th, Madison will host Garretson at 7pm for their final regular season match of the year.Â
