Madison Finished Day One of State Tournament in Tenth

The State Class A tennis tournament finished the first day with multiple teams all within striking distance of one another. 

Madison is currently tenth, but final results will depend on the matches today.

Evelyn Graham is in the championship semi finals for the Bulldogs, after she had an exciting comeback against Lennox. Evelyn was down 4-6, 2-5, love -40, to come back and win 4-6, 7-5, 10-3.

Evelyn and Sienna Maxwell had an exciting double match against top ranked Sioux Falls Christian, but lost 6-7, 6-7. Savannah Shipley came off her early season ankle injury to play some great tennis and get into the top 8 at flight 2. 

At flight 3, Delilah Maxwell was up 7-6 in her first set tie break, but lost a point that would have won the set. She ended up losing the match. Sienna Maxwell won some points at flight 4. 

The three doubles team of Miranda Gonyo and Christian Rowe for Madison are still alive in doubles.

Madison will continue on in to day two of the SDHSAA Class A Girls State Tournament today with flight 2 doubles still alive for the Bulldogs.
