Tuesday night in Chamberlain the Madison boys basketball team jumped out to a quick lead before hanging on for a two point win. Thursday the Bulldogs ran out in front, and then ran away from McCook Central/Montrose, for a 70-43 win. Madison out scored the Fighting Cougars 38-17 in the first half, and never lead by less than 11 after halftime. 

The Bulldogs cruised to the win, despite a poor 3 of 14 shooting from the three point line. Madison compensated with effective passing near the rim, and by forcing 20 MCM turnovers. Keaton Nighbert had 19 points and 6 assists for the Bulldogs. Cody Brown finished with 17 points, Tyler Tappe 14, and Carter Bergheim 12. The Bulldogs had 15 assists on 30 made shots, and held MCM to 34 percent shooting in the game.

The win was the 2nd in a row for the Madison boys, who improved to 8-3 on the year. McCook Central/Montrose fell to an even 6-6. The Madison boys will be back in Madison on Saturday. Playing in the 3rd annual “Dakota 12 vs. NEC Conference Clash”. Madison will take on Redfield Saturday afternoon at 5:30. That game will be played in the Madison Middle School gym. 

Bulldog JV blitzed MCM with a convincing 42-16 win. Spacing and hustle were the name of the game, as Nathan Ricke led Madison in scoring with 12 points.
