Madison Basketball To Open Season Today In Doubleheader

Madison Basketball will get their respective seasons underway today, as they travel to Elk-Point/Jefferson for a boys/girls doubleheader. The Dakota 12 foes will collide with the girls Varsity game at 3:30 and the boys to follow. EPJ was swept by Canton in a doubleheader on Thursday night. The Lady Bulldogs lost a slew of Seniors for last year’s team that saw them fall to McCook Central/Montrose in Regional play. They do return a couple of players who saw significant playing time as last year progressed.

The Madison Boys advanced to the Class A state tournament, but never got to play due to Covid-19. They had a thrilling victory over Red Cloud in the SoDak 16. They lost some key size inside but have plenty of experience returning to the court for Coach Larsen. You can hear today’s doubleheader on AM1390, girls game is set for around 3:30pm and the boys will follow.
