Class A and Class AA State Golf Championships Start Monday

The first High School State Championship of the school year begins today, with the start of the Class A and AA Boys State Golf Championships. The Class A boys start their two day meet at Moccasin Creek Country Club in Aberdeen today. 

Madison golfers Kaden Guischer and Jack Olson will represent the Bulldogs, after qualifying individually at last week’s Region Meet. Guischer will tee off at 9:50 this morning, in the 6th group off of hole #1. Olson begins play at 9:30, part of the 4th group starting on hole #10. 

Connor Jones of Dell Rapids, Kaden Burshiem and Alfie Henderson of Flandreau, and Mayson Rise of Tri-Valley will be among the other 97 golfers from 31 schools who will take part in the event. The field also includes defending Champion Kaleb Jost of Sioux Falls Christian, and Keeton Newborg of Tea Area who tied for 5th place last year. The Titans are the defending team Champions. 

The AA boys State Meet also gets underway today, at Lakeview Golf Course in Mitchell.
