Bulldogs Varsity Baseball Finishes 3-1 Over the Weekend

The Madison Bulldogs Baseball team had 2 games on Saturday and 2 on Sunday to finish the weekend at 3-1 record..

In the first game on Saturday  the Bulldogs snatched the lead late in the game in a 4-3 victory over West Central. The game was tied at two with theBulldogs batting in the bottom of the fifth when Zach Whitlock homered on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.

Nathan Ricke was the winning pitcher for Madison Bulldogs Varsity. The righty surrendered one run on two hits over two innings, striking out one and walking zero. Logan Allbee threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Allbee recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Madison Bulldogs Varsity. Aspen Dahl started the game for Madison Bulldogs Varsity. The righthander surrendered two runs on four hits over four innings, striking out eight

In the second game Madison’s two pitchers didn’t allow a single hit, as Madison Bulldogs Varsity defeated Baltic 10-0 on Saturday. The Bulldogs secured the victory thanks to six runs in the fourth inning  with Zach Whitlock, Colby Vostad, Trey Smith, Tyler Reck, Jared Kennington, and Peyton Wolf, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Braden Eimers was credited with the victory for Madison Bulldogs Varsity. The righthander lasted three innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out six. With Wolf throwing  two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

In the first game on Sunday Madison Bulldogs Varsity had all cylinders firing on offense winning big over Hamlin 9-1

Ashton Nills got the win for Madison Bulldogs Varsity. The lefty surrendered zero runs on two hits over four and two-thirds innings, striking out seven. Peyton Wolf threw two and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen. Wolf recorded the last seven outs to earn the save for Madison Bulldogs Varsity.

Madison Bulldogs Varsity racked up nine hits on the day. Aspen Dahl and Carson Wolf all managed multiple hits for Madison Bulldogs Varsity. Wolf and Dahl each collected two hits to lead Madison Bulldogs Varsity.

In the second game on Sunday Madison Bulldogs Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in an 8-4 loss to Dell Rapids on Sunday. Dell Rapids took the lead for good with two runs in the second inning. 

Lucas Johnson took the loss for Madison Bulldogs Varsity. Johnson lasted two innings, allowing five hits and four runs while striking out one and walking one. Madison Bulldogs Varsity hit one home run on the day. Braden Eimers had a long ball in the first inning.  Ty Jorgenson led Madison Bulldogs Varsity with two hits in three at bats.

The next action for the Bulldogs will be on Wednesday when they travel to Wessington Spring to take on Wolsey/Wessington Springs/South Central.  First pitch at 6:30pm
